Climate: will it heat enough?

The winter design temperature is the one your winter stays above 97.5% of the time: it is what sizes a heating system. ZERO systems are ENERGY STAR Cold Climate certified and heat down to −30 °C.

Verdict: across Newfoundland and Labrador, a properly sized ZERO covers the design temperature with no backup. Pick the capacity from area and insulation and keep a 20% margin for deep cold.
